I was totally dependent on beginner mode and switched to intermediate and even experienced mode which both fly totally different than beginner. Windows commands 90% of the market so it's a no-brainer that any niche product like an RC flight simulator is going to be for Windows. It's pretty simple to dual-boot Windows on a Mac, you can even boot it off an external hard drive that is only plugged in when needed. Another option is to pick up a used Windows PC as a dedicated flight sim box. If he's so against touching Windows that none of those options appeal then.
