An even larger draw back is that some of them still have an IDE drive interface (mainly the XP branded ones) and that the battery life isn't as good as newer laptops. Stay away from the IDE models as they have major issues with the DVD drive bay interface quitting. At a time when new laptops were well over $500 these could be bought new for less than $250. They seem to handle some operating systems with no real issues but drivers are not out there for any OS newer than Windows 7.
